Canvas, a widely used learning management system (LMS) developed by Instructure, regularly introduces updates to enhance user experience for educators and students. Recent blog posts highlight several notable enhancements

  • Canvas Catalog Enhancements: The upgraded Canvas Catalog Category Menu, now in beta, offers a sleek new design, faster load times, intuitive pagination, and enhanced deletion safeguards.
  • Offline Mobile Sync: To support students with limited or unreliable internet access, Canvas has introduced offline support in its mobile app. This feature allows students to download and access key course materials like modules, assignments, and grades without a constant connection. Currently, this functionality is available in the Canvas Student app, focusing on content access rather than course participation.
  • Updates to Canvas Discussions: A new option to disallow threaded replies has been added, providing flexibility for various discussion formats. Instructors can enable or disable threaded discussions based on their course requirements.

These updates aim to improve the functionality and accessibility of the Canvas platform, enhancing the teaching and learning experience for all users.
